102 Strategies for Dodging Behaviors

I’ve been thinking a lot about coping strategies lately. I’ve also been thinking about various behaviors that I used to associate with disordered eating rather than simply with my eating disorder. I’ve thought some too about the thoughts that creep in from time to time.

What I’ve noticed, however, is that there is an arsenal that I turn to – and that others turn to as well. In on ongoing project, I’m going to try to look beyond the strategies that so many people talk about, explore some of what’s worked for me, and see if just maybe it will be possible to start creating a resource for those times when it just doesn’t seem possible not to give in.

  1. Create what you need.
  2. Get Lost in Someone Else’s Creation
  3. Connect with Others
  4. Find a Mentor
  5. Tethering
  6. Talk About It
  7. Gratitude
  8. Volunteer
  9. Live with Intention
  10. Avoid Taking on More
  11. Unclutter
  12. Rely on What Motivates You
