Just as reflecting on gratitude – however challenging it may be to make a lit of things that we are genuinely thankful for – can help to put things in perspective, so can starting the day by identifying intentions. What will you accomplish? What will you believe? How will you respond to conflict? To whom will you reach out?
I’m not generally someone who believes in The Secret and that sort of scenario, but I do know one thing with certainty: The more that we know our direction, the easier that it is to stay on course.
Living with intention is something that works well for many people. Sometimes things that seem as simple or trivial as stating “I intend to call or text a friend rather than letting myself isolate” makes all the difference – and provides a much needed reminder that there are options. It sets the tone, changes the landscape, and can help to keep you moving forward.
