Writers are often told to keep a notebook or file on them so that they can keep track of ideas as they come up; those in recovery need a similar stockpile of photos/articles/blog posts that are motivating to them so that they can return to them time and time again.
Earlier today I posted a link on Twitter to a great blog post that starts as follows:
If you are confident, they will say you are arrogant.
If you are deliberate, they will say you are too sure of yourself.
If you have a sense of purpose, they will say you are self-absorbed.
It goes on to suggest what messages these statements make – and what you can do to keep pushing through and stick with your own path so that you can reach your goals.
This post is definitely going into me “to rely on” folder so that I can come back to it again and again as necessary. You may have different content in your folder – that’s totally okay too. Just know that there’s something there to turn to when you need it.
