ED Recovery – Remembering That Things Haven't Completely Gone to Hell

As I said yesterday, I’m stressed. This is a given lately, and hey, whatever; no one can expct life to be something that goes smoothly all the time, right?

While I could go into detail about all of the things that are making me more than a little bit crazy, I’m going to make the choice to look at the bright(er) side:

  • Even though it’s happening slowly, the blog community is growing.
  • I’m not just sitting back and waiting for all hell to break loose; I’m trying to act and to make better choices.
  • I’m going to a Social Media Club meeting tonight and will hopefully get the opportunity to make a connection with someone who could help me set up a social networking community (separate from the ED blog community) for something that I’m passionate about and that I’ve been developing a business plan for.
  • I put money into Starbucks cards before I completely stressed about money – and that means I can still enjoy a quad shot soy latte once in a while (have I mentioned that I really, really like caffeine and became impervious to coffee when I had a job doing coffee quality analysis testing?) and take advantage of the card rewards program that lets me get online for free.
  • I’ve started to do more than just think about plans, I’ve begun focusing on thinking ahead, considering what my additional needs are going to be and looking at what it’s going to take to get to where I really want to be.

In other words, while everything feels upsideĀ  down and tangled up in knots, things aren’t as bad as they seem; at the very least, thought everything feels out of control, I still have control.

  1. Good for you on all of this. The social media stuff is fun and kinda exciting, isn’t it?

  2. It would be far, far more exciting if it weren’t something that is involved in my every day work ;) But the opportunities are amazing!
